Why subscribe to Jasmin’s Jargon?
Your subscription supports my lifelong work to build community, advocate for animals and LGBTQ rights, and create new vegans (or vegan-curious folx). I also want to use my personal and professional experiences in writing and editing to embolden creative types, women, and gender non-conforming individuals so that they can follow their dreams, get published, become stronger activists, optimize their time, and get clear on their priorities.
This is an ongoing journey for me, and I’d like to use this platform to be transparent about my successes, challenges, and life pivots.

Who is Jasmin?
That would be me.
I’m Jasmin Singer, an activist, vegan, author, podcaster, and lesbian. I care deeply about the work I do and the way (and the why) I do it. I’m also interested in working with younger generations to find their voice and tell their stories. I think personal narrative is a vital ingredient to creating social change, and I’m endlessly trying out new ways to manage my time effectively. I’m interested in accountability, sharing ideas, and practicing collective care.
A bit more about me:
I’m the long-time co-host of the award-winning Our Hen House podcast. I’m also the Executive Director and Co-Founder.
I’m the author of two books: The VegNews Guide to Being a Fabulous Vegan and Always Too Much and Never Enough: A Memoir.
I’m the advice columnist and celebrity interviewer for VegNews Magazine (I also used to be the Senior Editor, and remain the Editor-At-Large).
I have presented public workshops about veganism, animal rights, and identity around the world. I led a TEDx talk called “Compassion Unlocks Identity” to a live audience of 2,500 people.
As of December 2022, I am the Weekend Host for WXXI, which is Rochester, NY’s NPR station.
Thank you for believing in my work, my vision, and my process. I believe in yours, too, and am excited to use this dynamic platform to connect, share resources, and make one another think in new ways.
